Derrick Rose is one of the biggest names in NBA free agency this offseason after the Knicks declined to pick up the point guard’s $15.6 million option for next season.

Three teams are reportedly interested in adding Rose, according to NBA insider Marc Stein, including the Suns, the Bucks and his former team, the Bulls.

The Chicago native was drafted by the Bulls with the No. 1 pick in 2008 and played there until ’16. During his tenure, the Bulls made seven consecutive playoff runs but never made it to the NBA Finals. It would be quite the reunion for the three-time All-Star.

The Bulls have dealt with some point guard issues, specifically with Lonzo Ball after he missed the entirety of last season with a knee injury. He is also expected to miss next season. Ayo Dosunmu started in 51 games as the point guard last season, with Patrick Beverley, Coby White and Alex Caruso taking their turns in the starting role, too.

As for the Suns, the team traded its star point guard Chris Paul to the Wizards on June 18, though he was ultimately dealt to the Warriors. The Bucks haven’t been involved in any big free agency news yet, but the team currently has the best odds with the Nuggets to win the 2024 NBA title. Rose has yet to win an NBA ring in his career.

The Knicks are still considered a contender for Rose as they haven’t shut down the idea of bringing him back for a third consecutive season. New York would likely bring Rose back for a lesser contract if they decide to do that.
