Over the course of 16 years in the NBA, center Robin Lopez has had to move a lot.

Since his debut for the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 29, 2008—six days before the election of President Barack Obama, if you need a temporal reference—Lopez has played for nine different NBA franchises. Teammates have included everyone from all-time greats Shaquille O'Neal and Grant Hill to youngsters Cole Anthony of the Orlando Magic to Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

With a journeyman career presumably reaching its twilight years, the eternally jovial Lopez has been able to make light of his journey in recent seasons. On Thursday, after being traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Sacramento Kings, Lopez joked about briefly appearing on the Bucks' roster alongside guard Patrick Beverley—who Milwaukee acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers the same day.

"I enjoyed being teammates with Patrick Beverley for all of an hour and 45 minutes I'll never forget those times," Lopez wrote.

Amazingly for two well-travelled players with a combined 28 seasons under their belts, Lopez and Beverley had only one franchise in common before Thursday. Lopez played for the Chicago Bulls from 2017-19, while Beverley spent time with the team in 2023.

Adding insult to injury for Lopez, it is thought that the Kings will waive him.

Lopez had fun with that prospect, too.
