76ers News: Patrick Beverley Disrespected by Recent Reserve Player Rankings

Sixers veteran feels he should be in the conversation for Sixth Man of the Year.

It might not show up in the box score every night, but Patrick Beverley has had a positive impact on the Philadelphia 76ers this season. Knowing what he brings to the table, the veteran point guard feels disrespected that he isn't in the conversation for a seasonal award.

Two weeks ago, Beverley got into a discussion about Sixth Man of the Year on his podcast. He made the case for himself, stating that his impact on winning should have him in the discussion.

"I told one of the coach today, so winning don't matter? I have one of the best plus-minuses off the bench this year," Beverley said. "I'm having a hell of a year. I think the new NBA is all about numbers...As far as impact, ask the coaches, who on the bench impacts for the Philadelphia 76ers?"

Earlier this week, Beverley again shared his thoughts on the 6MOY race. HoopsHype posted a list of the top 30 players in consideration, but Beverly's name was nowhere to be found. He later posted the list on his social media, stating that he thinks it's a joke.

In terms of guys who have been in the lineup consistently, Beverley has the highest +/- for the Sixers off the bench (+2). Kelly Oubre and Robert Covington both have higher numbers but have missed a significant amount of games.

Between being a vocal leader and impact on the floor, Beverley has been a big pick-up for the Sixers. His impact might go overlooked because of how much depth the team has this season. That said, he is worthy of recognition.

This season, Beverley is putting up averages of 5.2 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 2.4 APG. In his most recent outing, he notched four points, nine rebounds, and seven assists in an impressive win over the Sacramento Kings.
