76ers Trade Patrick Beverley to Eastern Conference Rival
As the trade deadline reaches the final hours, the Philadelphia 76ers continue to shake up their roster. According to a source, the team is moving on from the veteran guard, Patrick Beverley.
The veteran guard is set to reunite with his former head coach, Doc Rivers, on the Milwaukee Bucks. In exchange for Beverley, the Sixers are expected to acquire the veteran guard Cam Payne, along with a second-round pick.
Beverley joined the 76ers this past offseason as one of their key signings during the summer. This year, he appeared in 47 games, averaging 20 minutes off the bench during his first stint in Philadelphia.
During that time, Beverley averaged six points, three rebounds, and three assists off the bench for Philadelphia.
The Sixers are set to replace Beverley’s production with the 29-year-old veteran Cam Payne. With the Bucks this season, Payne appeared in 47 games. He averaged 15 minutes on the floor, producing six points and two assists per game. On 2.8 threes per game, Payne is averaging 40 percent from beyond the arc.
Prior to his run with the Bucks, Payne spent several seasons on the Phoenix Suns. Over the course of 174 games, Payne averaged ten points while knocking down 38 percent of his threes on the Suns. The veteran guard joins the 76ers with 53 playoff games under his belt.
