Last season, Tyrese Maxey burst on the scene as one of the top rising stars in the league. Following this breakout campaign, some feel big things are in store for the Philadelphia 76ers guard in 2024.

With just a few weeks to go until the regular season, the people at Bleacher Report put together a list of possible first-time All-Stars this year. Among the players was Maxey. Given the uncertainty of the James Harden situation, the young guard could cement himself as the Sixers' second star moving forward.

"While it's too early to know for certain how the James Harden situation gets resolved in Philly, it sure feels that he'll get moved at some point and probably not bring back a star. So, while Maxey perhaps was on an All-Star trajectory anyway, the Sixers' likely changing of the guard should accelerate the process."

Since arriving in Philly, Maxey has proven to be a blue-chip prospect. His work ethic is unmatched, and it's led to rapid development in his first three seasons. After not playing much as a rookie, the 22-year-old has already blossomed into a 20 points per game scorer and was among the most efficient three-point shooters in 2023.

The staff at Bleacher Report aren't the only ones who have set a high bar for Maxey this season. Back in September, trainer Drew Hanlen stated the Sixers guard should average 25 points per game this year. On top of that, Maxey received a lot of votes to have a breakout year in the NBA's annual GM survey

There are a lot of factors to look at, but Maxey being named an All-Star isn't out of the realm of possibility. People around the league have a good view of him, and the production is there from a numbers standpoint. Depending on what happens with Harden, Maxey could shift the view to him being Embiid's No. 2 and entering the All-Star conversation.
