The Chicago Bulls have had quite the offseason. While the team did not make any earth-shattering transactions, they still made several moves to address weaknesses, including three-point shooting and playmaking. While some corners lauded the Bulls’ plays in free agency, there were some who stated the front office might come to regret the moves they made, which may hinder the team’s long-term success.

That said, here are five stories that shaped the Bulls this past week:

1) Chicago Bulls may regret the moves they made this offseason

The Bulls retained several of their key free agents, including starting big man Nikola Vucevic and guards Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu. Despite these players' talent, some critics believe the Bulls may come to regret these moves due to their lack of cap flexibility and long-term risk.

2) Report questions Ayo Dosunmu re-signing

After a lengthy standoff, the Bulls were finally able to lock in two-year pro, Ayo Dosunmu, to a three-year contract that is reportedly worth $21 million. However, a report questioned this move by the Bulls, saying it’s hard to justify giving a contract involving that much money to someone who’s already deep in the depth chart in the backcourt.

3) Patrick Williams considered the team's weakest link in the starting five

Bulls forward Patrick Williams is still a young, untested forward, who’s playing alongside established veterans like DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine. And so, it stands to reason why a report pointed to the Florida State product as the “weakest link” in the Bulls’ starting five.

4) Report cites Jevon Carter signing as the biggest win of the offseason for the Chicago Bulls

Jevon Carter played a heck of a season for the Milwaukee Bucks last season and is looking to bring the momentum of that campaign to his first season with the Bulls. A report has cited that the Bulls’ recruitment and signing of Carter to fill the gap at point guard was the team’s biggest win in the offseason.

5) Chicago Bulls let Javon Freeman-Liberty go to the Toronto Raptors

Many had hoped that Javon Freeman-Liberty would get a shot with the Bulls after his stellar Summer League showing. However, apparently, it wasn’t enough, as the Bulls let Freeman-Liberty go and sign with the Toronto Raptors.
