Lavine's agent dismisses desire to land in Los Angeles: "I don’t have a specific destination for Zach"
Rich Paul dismissed the already scattered notion that he is plotting to land Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine to the Los Angeles Lakers due to the Klutch Sports connection.
In an interview with Sam Amick of The Athletic, Paul insisted that he has no specific landing spot in mind for LaVine and he only prioritizes the benefit of his All-Star client.
“It’s not one team,” Paul said. “I don’t have a specific destination for Zach. I want what’s best for Zach and his family. When you have a guy playing the game, you want him to be able to play the game happy, whether that’s in Chicago or somewhere else.”
What's next for Zach?
Since LaVine was mentioned in numerous trade rumors following the Bulls' early season struggles, his name has been frequently linked to the Lakers. The connection between the two was even strengthened when it was recently reported by the Chicago Sun-Times that Zach and his camp indeed desire a Los Angeles landing due to the obvious Klutch Sports ties.
The said agency, founded by Paul, controls four players within the Lakers franchise, including both LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
With Paul dismissing the notion, it remains yet to be seen what would truly unfold for both LaVine and Chicago. Per reports, there hasn't been any significant interest appearing around LaVine in the market. Zach's current low trade value couldn't hit the depths even more as the Bulls just picked up its sixth win out of the last nine games he is out due to foot soreness.
The wait continues
In their rumored intentions to ship Zach, Chicago may only choose nothing but to wait and observe if any desperate team would inquire about the 29-year-old’s trade availability. Accordingly, Paul is also keeping his patience intact about his and LaVine's direction with the Bulls
“In the event the Bulls decide they would like to go a different direction with the team, and it involves Zach, then I’m sure we’ll have conversations to get clarity on what’s best for both sides. Until then, the goal is to get healthy and return ready to go.”
