The Chicago Bulls pulled off its biggest win of the season as they stopped the streaking Philadelphia 76ers, 108-104, in a thrilling contest that went down the wire. Here are two takeaways from the win that helped the Bulls rise to 11-17 for the season.

White-hot Coby White

It appears there’s no stopping Coby White these days. Although his franchise record of making at least three triples ended at 14 games after he shot in only two against the Sixers, the crafty guard showcased the growth of his all-around game. He flirted with a triple-double with a stat line of 24 points, nine assists, and eight boards.

More than anything, his last assist of the game showcased his court awareness, finding a wide-open Nikola Vucevic, who drained a three-pointer to give Chicago a 105-98 lead with 1:33 remaining. White also held his ground on defense on Philadelphia’s second to the last possession of the game, forcing Sixers star Joel Embiid to lose control of the ball and miss what would have been an easy short jumper.

Alex Caruso returned

The Bulls’ do-it-all guard Alex Caruso returned from a one-game absence and hit the ground running. He had an impressive stat line of 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, a steal, and two blocked shots. Although the Bulls still started Ayo Dosunmu in an effort to preserve Caruso’s minutes, the defensive menace still ended up playing over 30 minutes, while the former played 19.

Caruso missed the last game after aggravating a left ankle sprain. However, the former Texas A&M standout showed no ill effects of the ankle injury, even going full speed and making this tough layup in transition.
