Cavs Get Win Over The Pacers With Strong Team Performance
The road hasn't been a friendly place for the Cavaliers to play this season. They've struggled a lot away from Rocket Mortage FeildHouse, but you would never have known that watching how they played against the Pacers on Sunday night.
Cleveland ended up blowing out the Indiana Pacers with a final score of 122-103.
There wasn't one player who did it all for the Cavs. This was probably the most complete and whole-team win that Cleveland has had all season. Each starter scored in the double-digits and only three out of the 12 players who got minutes didn't have a bucket.
There were two performances that stood out to everyone though and those were Isaac Okoro and Ricky Rubio.
Okoro had a season-high 20 points against Indiana while shooting an efficient 7-for-9 from the floor and knocking down 75 percent of the threes he took. Okoro may never turn into that consistent 'three-and-d' guy the Cavs wanted him to be when he was drafted, but performances such as this one do show that there is some spot for him in the league.
There had to be one player that was racking up assists with how many players scored tonight. That guy was Ricky Rubio who ended the night with a season-high nine assists.
This is exactly what the Cavs were hoping for when Rubio came back from his ACL injury that left him sidelined for the first half of the season. He's a game manager who can be a huge boost off the bench like on Sunday night.
As much as I love watching Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland take over games, it's also great to watch a huge team win such as this one. Cleveland can have one of the deepest benches in the NBA when they're firing on all cylinders.
Depth such as this is what gets teams far in the playoffs and the Cavs are hopefully putting it all together at the right time.
Cleveland will be back in action on Monday night in the nation's capitol as they take on the Wizards at 7:00 PM EST.
