Darius Garland Goes For 32-Points In Resilient Win Over The Grizzlies
The Cavs needed to find some sort of spark. They had been playing monotone basketball since the start of the year and were down after losing to the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
A spark is exactly what they got after Donovan Mitchell and Dillion Brooks were ejected after a scuffle.
However, this didn't phase the Cavs and they came away with the 128-113 victory over the Grizzlies.
Let's get right into it.
The Cavs only had a five-point lead after the altercation took place in the third quarter. Cleveland finished with a 15-point lead which had climbed up to 22 at one point. They also outscored the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter to help lead them to. a win.
Mitchell only finished with six points as he still nurses that groin injury. This is probably another reason why he took exception to Brooks' shot below the belt. Donovan's shot still looked off even before he was ejected.
Cleveland wouldn't have been able to come away from this game with the victory without the leadership from Darius Garland.
He finished the night with 32 points and 11 assists to give him his 15th double-double of the season. It's his seventh 30-point game of the season as well.
Garland lead the way but it was the entire Cavs team who responded to what happened on Thursday night. It was a great team win that should hopefully ignite them moving forward.
