The NBA is testing out something new during the 2023-24 season. This is the inclusion of an in-season tournament that will take place from November 3 to December 9.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been randomly drawn into a group with five other teams who they'll play in games that have been pre-designated as "Tournament Nights." Eight teams from all of the groups will then move on to the single-elimination knockout round. The winner of the in-season tournament will be decided by this group of eight.

Whoever can fend off elimination will get the opportunity to play for a prize pool and the NBA Cup in Las Vegas and be crowned the champions.

So the big question is, when will Cleveland's "Tournament Nights" be? This is how Round A will shale out for the Cavs:

  • @ Pacers November 3
  • Vs. Pistons November 17
  • @ 76ers November 21
  • Vs. Hawks November 28

An in-season tournament is something the NBA has been eyeing for years and it's finally coming to fruition. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out and what works well along with what needs tweaking.
