WATCH: Donovan Mitchell Posterizes Yuta Watanabe In Cavs-Nets Showdown
Quick public service announcement for defenders thinking they're going to block Donovan Mitchell, think again.
Mitchell has thrown down a number of thunderous dunks this season, but the one he put down over Yuta Watanabe might be the most disrespectful one of the season. Watch it for yourself:
The play all started when Caris LeVert read the pass from Yuta well and picked it off. Mitchell ran the fastbreak perfectly and finished the play. I thought that Mitchell was going to throw the alley-oop up to LeVert, but Spida had other ideas.
This type of superstar power is exactly what the Cleveland Cavalies had in mind when they traded for him before the start of the NBA season. Cleveland has hopes for a strong playoff push and Mitchell will be leading the charge.
In his sixth NBA season, Mitchell is averaging a career-high 27.4 points per game and his ability to drive to the hoop such as what we saw on this play is one of the reasons why.
