Four Celtics Among USA Basketball's Player Pool for Paris Olympics
On the heels of Team USA's men's basketball program failing to medal at the FIBA World Cup over the summer, LeBron James, a two-time gold medalist, made it known he was ready to represent his country for a fourth time.
James also began recruiting some of the NBA's top stars, reaching out to Jayson Tatum, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Anthony Davis, among others, per Shams Charania of The Athletic, who conveyed those four, plus James, are among those prepared to play in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
In a step towards putting together its 12-player roster, Team USA announced a player pool consisting of 41 individuals. That group includes four starters from the Boston Celtics.
Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White have each earned consideration for the right to represent their country in this Summer's Olympics.
On the heels of helping lead the Milwaukee Bucks to the 2021 NBA title, Holiday joined Tatum in propelling Team USA's men's basketball program to a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
