Do NBA general managers believe Jayson Tatum will ascend to league MVP this season?

On Tuesday, NBA.com published the results of a survey of the league's general managers. They got asked 50 questions pertaining to the upcoming 2023-24 regular season.

One of the questions posed to general managers was who they think will win the 2023-24 MVP award. Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic was the top choice and received 43 percent of the votes, but Boston Celtics wing Jayson Tatum finished third with 13 percent of the votes.

Also, general managers were asked who the best small forward in the NBA is right now, and Tatum received the most votes of any player by a wide margin, as he earned 47 percent of the votes. Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant received the second-most votes, and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic received the third-most.

And on the heels of Boston acquiring Jrue Holiday, the general managers surveyed pegged the Celtics and Nuggets as co-favorites to capture the Larry O'Brien Trophy this season.
