Saturday at the Auerbach Center, the Celtics held their first Summer League practice.

Rookie Jordan Walsh described it as featuring "way more competition stuff than I thought it was gonna be, which made it even more fun for me. Just be able to get up and down and play with those guys and get a feel for them; that was an amazing first day, for sure."

The former Arkansas Razorback told Inside The Celtics that his goal for Summer League is "to win every game, for sure. I want to be able to dominate every single game with the team and get a W."

Tony Dobbins, the head coach of Boston's Sin City squad, said his message to the team was, "We are excited to be here to work with you, to invest in you, and we can't guarantee how many minutes you'll play or how many points you'll score, but we can guarantee that everybody from a staff perspective is totally focused on helping you improve, so that when you reflect on your time with the team, and you reflect on your Summer League experience, whether it's the 16th, the 17th, whenever we're done, you're gonna feel confident that you're a better player than when you came in the door. And you're gonna know that you were around a group of people from a staff standpoint that really poured into you, and really invested in you and were dedicated to helping you improve.

"And then from a player perspective, we're trying to create an environment where everybody understands the value of being a good teammate and celebrating their teammate's success and being happy for them, whether it's a made shot, or a great play or as a team we win a game, we're trying to create an environment where we're celebrating success, and we're happy for one and other."

Dobbins also conveyed, "We have people who are joining us from all different places in their career and on their journey and their path, and they're all excited to be here, and they're receptive to coaching, they're ready to work, so for us as a staff, it's easy to come in here and work with those guys."

As for what he wants to get out of this experience, he expressed the following.

"I'm just trying to take full advantage of it and enjoy seeing a different side of coaching than I do during the season. But also, I think it's an opportunity for me to be in a better position to help (head coach) Joe (Mazzulla). I think that's for me, and that's for all of us. The great thing about Summer League is it allows players and staff to do something a little bit different than what you do during the season. But ultimately, the goal for everybody is to be better for the franchise. If everybody improves a little bit, then the franchise improves."

The Celtics begin Summer League play on July 8. Their roster includes last year's second-round pick, JD Davison. Late-season signing Justin Champagnie. Former first-round selection Udoka Azubuike. Three-year NBA veteran Mychal Mulder, most recently with the Heat. And guard Jay Scrubb, a 2020 second-round pick who played for the Clippers and Magic on two-way deals.

Here's a look at their entire roster.
