According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Payton Pritchard has been selected to join the USA Select Team. During the 2022-2023 season, Pritchard averaged 5.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 13.4 minutes per game.

As a member of the USA Select Team, Pritchard will participate in scrimmages against Team USA's FIBA World Cup roster at their upcoming pre-tournament training camp in Las Vegas. The Boston Celtics guard is also eligible to serve as a replacement player for the FIBA World Cup, in the event that a member of Team USA is unable to participate.

As reported by Joe Vardon and Shams Charania, the USA Select Team will also consist of Cade Cunningham, Jalen Green, Chet Holgrem, Keegan Murray, and Jalen Williams. Jamahl Mosley of the Orlando Magic will coach the practice squad.

Team USA’s roster is headlined by Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson, Anthony Edwards, and Tyrese Haliburton. The young core will be seeking redemption for the United States’ seventh place finish at the 2019 FIBA World Cup.

Training camp will take place at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas on August 3rd.
