The Boston Celtics are "eager" to sign guard Jrue Holiday to a contract extension, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Holiday has just one year remaining on his four-year, $135 million deal he inked with the Milwaukee Bucks back in 2021.

On Sunday, Boston traded point guard Malcolm Brogdon, big man Robert Williams, and two future first-round draft picks to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for the two-time All-Star.

Holiday, 33, has played for three teams — the New Orleans Pelicans, Philadelphia 76ers, and Bucks — across his 14 seasons in the NBA. He averaged 19.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 67 games played with the Bucks during the 2022-23 regular season.

The combo guard has earned five All-Defensive Team selections throughout his pro career and won an NBA title with Milwaukee in 2021.
