Free agent big man Blake Griffin recently appeared on Barstool Sports' Fore Play Podcast. When asked about his time in Boston, Griffin praised the Celtics organization and its fans.

"Dude, Boston is unbelievable," Griffin said. "Living in Boston, playing in Boston, was like one of the best experiences. Dude, the fans are incredible."

"One of the best parts, the players on that team are just like such a great group of guys."

Griffin, 34, was selected with the first overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and has played for three teams — the Celtics, Los Angeles Clippers, and Detroit Pistons — across his 13 seasons in the NBA. He averaged 4.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game across 41 appearances with the Celtics during the 2022-23 regular season (16 starts).

The Celtics would be wise to re-sign Griffin before the start of the 2023-24 regular season, even though he likely wouldn't be a consistent member of the team's rotation. After all, Griffin proved himself to be the consummate teammate and a valuable locker-room presence in his first season in Boston.
