The LA Clippers have acquired Bones Hyland from the Denver Nuggets for two second round picks. It was a buy-low move for the Clippers, as they bring in a talented young guard who they have been high on since the 2021 draft. After the trade became official, Hyland sent out a Tweet sharing his excitement:

The Clippers put out a statement from team president Lawrence Frank that read, "Bones is an explosive young guard we've admired since the draft two years ago. He is an excellent shooter, attacker and passer with deep range and boundless energy. We are excited to welcome Bones to the Clippers."

Things did not go as planned for Hyland in Denver, as he had fallen out of the rotation and was not receiving the playing time he felt he deserved. Many expected the Clippers to draft him back in 2021, but the team made a move for Keon Johnson, and Hyland fell to the Nuggets. Now two seasons later, the Clippers get a chance to develop the young guard.

For the price of two second-rounders, the Clippers are taking a low-risk chance on a young player with a lot of upside. He does not project to get many rotational minutes this season, but he can provide a spark off the bench when given the opportunity. Often times a change of scenery is exactly what a player needs.
