Clippers Announce Roster Move After Loss to Nuggets

The LA Clippers have made a roster move

Following their loss to the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night, the LA Clippers announced on Wednesday that the team had signed Josh Primo to a standard contract, and Xavier Moon to a two-way deal. Needing to fill their 14th roster spot, the Clippers opted for an internal option in Primo who had been on a two-way deal, and gave Moon the vacated two-way slot.

Still with an open roster spot, the Clippers are expected to sign veteran center Daniel Theis once he clears waivers. Theis was waived by the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, and the expectation is that he will sign with LA to take over their backup center spot in the injury absence of Mason Plumlee.

While the Clippers have bigger issues to sort out than their final two roster spots, this was a move that needed to be made, and the team has now filled that hole. Moon is a player who has been around the Clippers organization for a while now, spending most of his time in the G-League, but making some appearances at the NBA level as well. Primo is new to the Clippers, but the organization is intrigued with his potential as a former lottery pick.

There is reason to believe this is not the last move the Clippers will make this season, but as of right now it's their latest one.
