Clippers Give Official Update on Paul George's Injury Reevaluation
Today marks three weeks since the initial announcement that LA Clippers star Paul George work have his sprained knee reevaluated in 2-3 weeks. Before LA's game on Saturday, the Clippers released a statement that said George is still undergoing exercises and therapies to rehabilitate his sprained knee, but there is no timetable for his return. The team confirmed on Wednesday that this is their official reevaluation update.
While this update is vague, and does not indicate any imminent return, it also does not rule out the possibility of George returning. The star forward recently spoke on his podcast about the rehab process, saying, "I've been feeling better. I've been working my butt off, grinding literally every day. Six days out of the week I'm training, doing rehab. I'm gonna give it every chance I got, man. It's coming down to the wire."
George's comments seemed to indicate that he is rehabbing with the hope of returning this postseason; however, there is still no official update on how likely a return actually is. The team's official statement did not provide a timeline, and George's comments also included no update about when a return could happen.
Most of the reporting up until this point has indicated that George will be sidelined for at least the first round series vs. the Phoenix Suns, but it will be interesting to see if an extended series would make a return more possible. For now, George is still rehabbing almost every single day, but there is no official timetable for his return.
