The San Antonio Spurs have won the NBA Draft Lottery, and by all accounts will be selecting Victor Wembanyama with the first overall pick. LA Clippers forward Nicolas Batum reacted to the news on Twitter shortly after it was revealed that San Antonio had been awarded the opportunity to select the French phenom:

Also from France, Batum has been following Wembanyama closely like the rest of the NBA world. As Batum alluded to, Wembanyama will have an opportunity to learn under legendary Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, while also following the footsteps of legendary Spurs big man Tim Duncan.

This is an exciting day for the Spurs organization and the entire city of San Antonio, as the player many are calling the greatest prospect in NBA history will be on the board when it is their turn to draft. Having been stuck in a rebuild, San Antonio will now have the opportunity to add a transcendent talent to a roster that is young and promising.

Perhaps the most consequential Draft Lottery in league history, Tuesday night's news will result in elation for San Antonio, and disappointment for the other lottery teams that were not as fortunate. That said, this draft has a lot of talent beyond Wembanyama, and projects to produce several stars at the NBA level.

With Wembanyama projected to go to the Spurs, Clippers forward Nicolas Batum shared his thoughts following the Draft Lottery.
