Damian Lillard Finally Admits Famous Shot Against Paul George Was a Bad Shot
"That's a bad shot. I don't care what anybody says. That's a bad shot."
Simple words from Paul George during the 2019 playoffs that became infamous among NBA fans. Damian Lillard eliminated the Oklahoma City Thunder from the 2019 playoffs with one of the deepest series-ending shots in playoff history. For any other player, it would most definitely be a bad shot. But for Damian Lillard, people can make exceptions.
Years after the shot, Paul George finally admitted that maybe Damian Lillard's shot was actually a good one, specifically because of how good his range was. He even gave it two thumbs up.
Now, it looks like Damian Lillard is willing to admit his deep shot to eliminate Paul George in the 2019 playoffs was actually a bad one.
"Every time I see this there's one thing that never changes," Lillard said. "I can't believe how deep I was sometimes. I actually shot that. That actually was a bad shot."
There was a moment in time when it seemed like Paul George and Damian Lillard absolutely hated each other. It peaked during the 2020 NBA season when both players' family members started getting involved on social media. Fortunately, it seems like both of them have completely moved on, and can both even joke about it.
"It actually was a bad shot," are words I don't think anyone ever expected to hear out of Damian Lillard's mouth. Regardless, the shot went in, and that's all history will remember, just like Paul George said.
