Anthony Edwards has ascended to superstar status in the NBA this season. The young 22-year-old guard has been putting on highlight reel moments week after week while averaging a surging 26.1 points a game. He's been performing so well, that one former Clippers player called him the best guard in the NBA.

Austin Rivers spoke during an NBA on ESPN segment where he sang praises for Anthony Edwards.

"When he talks about nobody can guard him, he means that," Rivers said. "He has unflinching, unwavering, confidence. You can't teach that. There are stars, then there are stars who have an aura about them. He just radiates it. He has positivity, his players like playing with him, he controls the locker room."

Rivers continued his praises for Edwards, even going as far as calling him the best guard in the NBA. He even listed all the reasons why for the accolade.

"This guy demands that respect, and he's going out there and doing it every single night," Rivers said. "He is, on his best nights, and how he's playing right now, the best guard in the NBA. Yes, I said that. He's a bad man, two-way player, three-level scorer, clutch, can finish at the basket, mid-range, shoot the long ball, off the dribble, or catch and shoot - everything."

The NBA is very close to a changing of a guard moment. Steph Curry is still arguably the best guard in the NBA, but players like Anthony Edwards and Tyrese Haliburton are knocking on the door.
