Former Lakers Player Gets Honest About Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook is still getting love from some of the Lakers.

Even though Russell Westbrook had a very tumultuous tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, that doesn't mean he didn't have love from the players on the team.

Former Lakers player Thomas Bryant spoke about playing with Russell Westbrook on the Outta Pocket podcast and had glowing things to say about the point guard.

"He’s one of the most brilliant, accepting guys that I’ve ever played with," Bryant said about Westbrook. "Always had the best attitude ever, that you'd ever think of. You know how guys say the attitude goes a long way? It does go a long way. With Russ, he's always coming in with a great attitude, and he's always there for you.

When it comes to Russell Westbrook as a teammate, it's the off-the-court tendencies that really resonate with other players. While he can be a player on the court, he's often noted for being a better person off of it. Bryant gives a perfect example on the podcast.

"Say you need some shoes, he'll get you like four pairs of shoes," Bryant said. "You wear the same size as him, he'll give you the shoes off his feet... Always looking out for guys, always talking to them. He's always trying to make the game so much more easier for anyone."

Unfortunately for Russell Westbrook, Lakers fans will never really know how good of a human being he was off the court. The thing they'll remember most is how much Westbrook struggled to fit with the team, and it doesn't seem like they'll forgive him anytime soon for it. Fortunately for Westbrook though, he's found a new home with the LA Clippers, one that he enjoyed enough to return for a second year.
