The LA Clippers have ruled Kawhi Leonard out for Friday night's game vs. the Milwaukee Bucks due to injury management. This news is certainly surprising, as this game is not part of a back-to-back set for the Clippers. Leonard had previously been only missing games that were part of back-to-backs, but will sit out this game against the Bucks that comes after a day off, and before a three-day break.

After Wednesday night's loss to the Dallas Mavericks, Clippers head coach Ty Lue said that minutes limits will be placed on both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George until the All-Star break; however, he did not mention the team giving either of those players full games off.

The Clippers have asked a lot of Leonard over the last few weeks, extending his minutes beyond where they have been in a while, which is partially why the team has opted for a cautious approach entering the break. This game will be the last half of a back-to-back for the Bucks, who are facing the Lakers in Los Angeles on Thursday night, so it will be interesting to see if they opt to rest any of their players on Friday.

Having fallen to the 6th seed after their loss to the Mavericks, the Clippers need to regain some momentum entering the All-Star break. Their schedule is not getting easier any time soon, so they will have to embrace the challenge.
