Injury Report: Kawhi Leonard's Status vs Golden State Warriors Revealed
Kawhi Leonard did not play the Clippers' last game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night, but it looks like he's back.
Leonard was previously listed as having knee injury management against the Bucks and Clippers head coach Ty Lue mentioned that he will have a minutes restriction heading into the All-Star break. It remains to be seen how many minutes he will play against the Golden State Warriors, but the bigger topic is that he's playing against them.
After the Clippers won 8 of the last 10 games, it looked like they were finally starting to prove themselves as a legitimate contender again. Instead, they dropped an incredibly important game against a shorthanded Dallas Mavericks team and then lost a rematch against the Milwaukee Bucks.
As a result, the Clippers have slipped to the 6th seed and are only one game above the play-in tournament. The Golden State Warriors are only 1.5 games behind the Clippers, so it's incredibly important that LA wins while Steph Curry is injured.
If the Clippers defeat the Warriors, they'll be tied for the 4th seed and only two games out of the 3rd seed. The Clippers have both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George available for Tuesday's game against Golden State, and losing against a Warriors team without Steph Curry at home would be unacceptable.
