James Harden Slams New Report About Him
In a new article from Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, a deep dive into the feud between James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers was revealed. The article included details about Harden's relationship with Doc Rivers, some of the issues his teammates had with his decision making on the road, and what exactly went wrong between the star guard and Daryl Morey.
Harden wasted no time slamming the report online, using Instagram to push back against what was written about him:
It's unclear what parts of the article Harden disagreed with the most, but it's clear he feels some of what was reported is untrue. What does remain clear, is that Harden's trade request to the LA Clippers remains. While the 76ers plan to bring him into training camp, as no teams are offering what they deem an appropriate trade package, Harden currently has no interest in ever playing for Philadelphia again.
As long as Daryl Morey remains involved with the 76ers, it seems any path to reconciliation with Harden is unlikely to impossible. The 76ers will soon have to decide whether or not they are willing to risk bringing an unhappy Harden into camp, or even the start of the regular season. Maintaining championship hopes for next season, the 76ers cannot afford to fumble this situation, whether with a bad trade or allowing Harden to negatively impact their season as part of the team.
