James Harden's Former Teammate Reveals Lakers Trade Idea

Could the 76ers trade James Harden to the Lakers if not the Clippers?

With the LA Clippers pausing James Harden trade talks with the Philadelphia 76ers, the star guard's former teammate Kendrick Perkins revealed an idea for a trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Perkins, who was teammates with Harden on the Oklahoma City Thunder and is now an ESPN analyst, said, "If I'm the Los Angeles Lakers, I might be looking to trade for James Harden. James Harden wants to go to the Clippers, but to be honest with you, James Harden to the Lakers makes the most sense for Anthony Davis. If you want to get him good easy looks like James Harden did for Joel Embiid last season, how about trading for him... If I'm the Lakers and I'm James Harden, I would reconsider just picking the Clippers and actually wanting to get to LA to be with the Los Angeles Lakers."

This is an interesting thought, especially if the Lakers struggle to begin the season and feel they need a talent upgrade in order to be legit contenders in the Western Conference. While the Clippers have been Harden's preferred trade destination, perhaps a move to the Lakers is something he would be open to if the Clippers remain reluctant to meet Philadelphia's asking price for the star guard.

As of right now, Harden trade talks remain stalled, but this is a situation to follow.
