Ever since the James Harden trade, Kawhi Leonard hasn't quite found a consistent role with the Clippers. In some games he's standing in the corner, in some games, he's not taking a ton of shots, and in every game, he's playing some form of power forward.

After the Clippers lost a very disappointing game to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night, Kawhi Leonard opened up about playing multiple positions and playing more of the power forward spot.

“I mean I would say tonight we didn’t guard anybody down low," Leonard said. "You know just taking it on time and just trying to be great in my role whatever my role is and just coming on to the floor and trying to be aggressive and putting an imprint on the game."

Years ago, Kawhi Leonard had a very defined role with the LA Clippers. His job was to be the point forward and share the role with Paul George. The duo would both play point forward while they had an explosive shoot-first point guard in the starting lineup. Years later, the two both clamored about having a more traditional point guard and now, they've received it. Paul George has learned to adapt to playing with Harden, but for Kawhi, it's been a lot less consistent.

There's no shame in the Clippers losing to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night. The Pelicans are one of the hottest teams in the Western Conference right now, but that doesn't make the loss any less disappointing. LA needed to win that game to become a .500 team, and are in the midst of a brutal 5 games in 7 night stretch.

Up next for the LA Clippers is a back-to-back against the Dallas Mavericks tonight.
