Kawhi Leonard's Injury Status vs. Hornets Revealed
For a third straight game, Kawhi Leonard has been listed as questionable on the Clippers' injury report with a left hip contusion.
While the injury was initially said to have not been serious, it's hard to not get worried as time progresses. Kawhi suffered the hip contusion when he was hip-checked by Grant Williams in a game against the Dallas Mavericks. Kawhi went down with a grimace but ultimately ended up finishing the game. He had claimed that he was fine, but has missed two games since then.
Clippers head coach Ty Lue had also mentioned that Kawhi Leonard is going to be day-to-day with the injury. The injury was sustained on a Wednesday, and Kawhi will have gone 5-6 days of being day-to-day with the injury.
One would have to imagine that if Kawhi Leonard doesn't play against the Hornets, he'll certainly play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. The Clippers only have two games in four nights and will have plenty of rest. It made sense for Leonard not to play in the back-to-back against the Thunder since it was the very next day after the Mavericks game, but nearly a week has passed since then.
The LA Clippers should have enough on their roster to defeat a shorthanded Charlotte Hornets team, regardless of whether Kawhi Leonard plays. If they can't beat Charlotte, then there are bigger problems.
