LA Clippers Reportedly Sign Former Celtics Player
It was reported on Monday afternoon by Law Murray of The Athletic that the LA Clippers have agreed to an Exhibit-10 contract with former Boston Celtics guard Brodric Thomas. Last appearing in the NBA with the Celtics during the 2021-22 season, Brodric has also spent time with the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers.
Not a stranger to the Clippers organization, Thomas was with their Summer League team in July. With some impressive moments during the most recent Summer League, Thomas earned himself an opportunity to join the Clippers in training camp.
Already above the maximum roster capacity, the Clippers are not holding any competitions for standard roster spots, but they do have one two-way spot open. This is the spot Thomas would have an opportunity to land if he impresses in camp. The Clippers have a few different players also going for that third two-way spot, with Moussa Diabate and Jordan Miller already occupying the other two.
The Clippers have several decisions to make between now and the start of the regular season. Assuming a blockbuster trade doesn't go down, the team will have to trim their roster down to the maximum 15 players allowed. If a James Harden trade - or one similar goes down, then the Clippers will likely go from above roster capacity to having a couple available spots to fill.
