Lakers Favored as Chris Paul's Next Team
With the Phoenix Suns suffering another disappointing playoff exit, some believe Chris Paul may have played his last game in Phoenix. The veteran point guard has a partially guaranteed contract for next season, and could be on the move if Phoenix feels they need an upgrade at that position.
While he is not who he once was, Paul is still a productive player at age 38, and could fit nicely on a team that doesn't need much from him offensively. In their latest betting odds, BetOnline.ag has the Los Angeles Lakers favored to land Paul if he leaves the Phoenix Suns:
The LA Clippers were given the third best odds to be Chris Paul's next team, which would bring the veteran guard back to the organization he spent six seasons with from 2011-2017. Other notable favorites to land Paul are the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, and Miami Heat.
Paul joining the Lakers or the Clippers would be a massive story. A reunion with the Clippers would be an obvious storyline, while a move to the Lakers would in many ways be over a decade in the making. As has been well documented, Paul was almost traded to the Lakers in 2011 before the NBA vetoed the deal and he ended up with the Clippers.
Needless to say, this will be an interesting summer for Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns.
