NBA Admits Russell Westbrook Wrongfully Fouled Out in Clippers vs. Kings

As expected, the NBA's Last Two Minute Report from Friday night's historic game between the LA Clippers and Sacramento Kings is extensive. In what was the second-highest scoring game in NBA history, the Clippers fell just one point short, meaning any one play could have changed the outcome of the game.

According to the NBA's Last Two Minute Report, there were four missed calls in the last two minutes of Friday night's game, three of which disadvantaged the Clippers. Perhaps the biggest mistake the officials made down the stretch of this game came in the Double OT period when Russell Westbrook was wrongfully whistled for his sixth foul. According to the NBA, the contact Westbrook made with Harrison Barnes was marginal, and did not warrant a whistle.

As previously mentioned, this was one of three calls that disadvantaged the Clippers down the stretch. The other two were a missed travel on De'Aaron Fox that led to free throws, and a missed foul call on Domantas Sabonis that would have sent Kawhi Leonard to the free two line with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.

The only missed call that benefited the Kings in the final two minutes of Friday night's game came on a missed travel call that should have resulted in a turnover on Paul George. The missed call was ultimately inconsequential, as the Clippers did not score on the possession anyways.
