Even though the LA Clippers defeated the Charlotte Hornets last night, the team has been struggling without Kawhi Leonard, going beyond last season. The Clippers had lost 12 of their last 13 games without Kawhi Leonard in the lineup, which includes games with Paul George playing. Still, a win is a win last night.

After the Clippers defeated the Charlotte Hornets last night, Paul George opened up the team's performance without Kawhi.

“We’re a next man up, keep the ship going," George said. "When [Kawhi Leonard] gets back, he’ll be healthy, and we will continue to rock. Regardless of who’s in or who’s out, our job is to continue to keep going. It’s no different with who’s out.”

The Clippers had no business keeping the game close with the shorthanded Charlotte Hornets all game the way they did, but that's typically how their play has been without Kawhi Leonard. After allowing the Hornets to take a 7-0 lead in the fourth quarter, LA figured out a way to rally a 17-0 run to win the game.

“I thought we did a better job of trying to limit paint touches, paint attacks, and contest open shots," George said about the second half. "This was a team that wasn’t shooting the three ball, and not shooting it well for that matter. We just have to pack [the paint] a little bit better and I thought we did that which caused more misses, and we were able to get out and play in transition.”

Despite the 18-12 record, the LA Clippers are most definitely a team in progress. They're undefeated in the month of December when Kawhi Leonard plays, but haven't quite figured out how to play without him. Regardless of last night's struggle, a win is a win.
