Before breaking through and winning a championship in 2019, the Toronto Raptors were dominated by LeBron James for years. With James joining the Los Angeles Lakers, he was no longer in Toronto's way that 2019 season, which certainly helped them finally get over the hump.

During a recent episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment, LA Clippers guard Norman Powell, who was on those Toronto teams, got honest about LeBron's dominance over them.

"LeBron James," Powell answered when asked why Toronto couldn't get over the hump prior to 2019. "Bron had our number every single year. My rookie year was the best series we had against him. After that, it was night night. No matter what we did, he had a counter to that."

Powell said James would be calling out Toronto's plays in detail before they even ran them, which the Raptors had no ability to counter. While LeBron's dominance over the Raptors became a well noted theme, there were other teams that also could not get over the hump in the Eastern Conference because of him.

Things eventually worked out for the Raptors, as LeBron joined the Lakers, and Toronto got Kawhi Leonard. This led to the Raptors' first championship in franchise history, and it's one the city will never forget after years of disappointment.
