Report: Reggie Jackson to Sign With Denver Nuggets
After an emotional trade with the LA Clippers, Reggie Jackson is reportedly expected to sign with the number one team in the Western Conference - the Denver Nuggets.
According to a report from Shams Charania, Jackson is finalizing a contract buyout with the Charlotte Hornets and then plans to sign with the Denver Nuggets. Jackson was traded from the Clippers to the Charlotte Hornets for Mason Plumlee, as the Clippers desperately needed a backup center.
Essentially, the Clippers and Nuggets indirectly swapped backup point guards with each other. The Nuggets traded Bones Hyland to the Clippers for second-round picks, and then Jackson found his way to replace that spot.
In all honesty, Jackson should be a great pickup for the Denver Nuggets. He has the experience of being a starter in huge playoff moments with the Clippers. The Denver Nuggets are in a win-now mode and didn't have the patience for Bones Hyland wanting more minutes behind Jamal Murray. Reggie Jackson understands that, he knows what the mission is, and he just wants to win a championship.
While Reggie Jackson has seen some of his performance drop this season, especially from a shooting standpoint, he's still capable of big moments. Expect him to be a huge wild card for the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs, especially as a backup point guard.
