The LA Clippers should have their two stars healthy to begin training camp

In the three years Ty Lue has been head coach of the LA Clippers, one or both of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have ended the season sidelined due to injury. Leonard tore his ACL in 2021, Paul George tore his UCL in 2022 (while Leonard was still recovering from ACL surgery), and last season Leonard tore his meniscus while George was already sidelined with a knee sprain.

This has become a yearly issue for the Clippers, and one they hope won't plague them again next season. Recently speaking at Team USA training camp, Ty Lue revealed a positive update on both Leonard and George, saying the two stars are healthy and ready to go for training camp.

"They're heathy now," Lue said. "Kawhi is on pace exactly where he needs to be, PG is healthy, so we're in a good place right now."

Since joining the Clippers in 2019, Leonard and George have played just 41% of the team's games together. While LA's cautious approach to their workload has contributed to this, it's primarily been significant injuries to both players that have caused such a lack of availability.

Having put together a roster that is much more complete than the one they entered last season with, the Clippers like where they're at right now. That said, their success will again be tied to health of their two stars.
