Prospect Profile

A freshman wing at Miami this season, George has broken out as a draft riser as the 2023-24 campaign has gone on. Although he’s 6-foot-8 with the frame of a wing or forward, he possesses natural guard instincts with playmaking upside.

Playing time and role has fluctuated throughout the season for George. He’s started in some games, but has come off the bench in others. In either case he had operated as more of a role player that hasn’t played significant minutes relative to others on the team.

Even then, he has found ways to be extremely effective and impact in limited action. That’s tough to do at any level, but George has found a way which is impressive. This is one of many reasons it’s easy to see him fitting on almost any NBA team in the future, with the floor of an impactful role player but much more potential than that.

Not only does George have great size for a wing with guard skills handling the ball, but he’s also a great shooter. Furthermore, he’s proven that his shot should translate at the next level with how many ways he has scored on jumpers. Whether it’s on or off the ball, George is effective.

Given he grew up playing point guard and developed physically into the strong wing/forward he is today, the natural instincts George possesses shines bright on the court. More often that not, he makes the right play and takes care of the ball. Furthermore, he’s starting to figure out how to leverage his size in mismatches on both ends of the floor.

Defensively, George moves well for his size, but doesn’t yet have the technique or foot speed to defend as well in space as NBA teams would probably like. Even then, he can guard on the perimeter, but sometimes struggles against quicker, more shifty players.

While George is buried on a talented Miami team with several NBA prospects, he could end up being the best of any on this roster. The Swiss prospect played in France before coming to the United States and has blossomed into a prospect that any NBA team would love to have.
