Prospect Profile
At 6-foot-9, Missia-Dio has plenty of size and length to play forward at the NBA level. In the Overtime Elite system, the Belgian prospect has been able to add strength and really expand his game with the green light to do a little bit of everything on the court. He plays with a high motor and gives maximum effort which is why he finds himself in the right place at the right time so frequently.
The shooting is the primary swing skill for Missia-Dio, which will likely be the piece of his game that NBA teams look at most closely in the pre-draft process. He shoots from midrange and beyond the arc at a respectable enough rate that defenders have to play him honest, but he certainly isn’t consistently a knockdown shooter.
With the ball in his hands, the OTE forward looks comfortable. While he’s not able to break down his defender with dribble moves, he can blow by in a straight line and doesn’t have an issue scoring on the move.
Defensively, Missia-Dio has tremendous upside with his ability to protect the paint but also defend in space. He has lateral quickness that is impressive for his size and will only become more versatile on that end as his frame continues to fill out. As he gets stronger with time, he will be the ideal power forward that can slide up to center situationally and hopefully develop more wing skills to slide down as well. The Overtime Elite forward also reportedly has a 7-foot-7 wingspan.
Before the start of the season, Missia-Dio joined Israeli team Maccabi Ra'anana for their three-game NBA preseason slate, which was another great experience for him ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft. As the Overtime Elite season goes on, there will be plenty of eyes on the Belgian prospect and he will have every opportunity to showcase his talent.
