Prospect Profile

One of the fastest rising Brazilian basketball prospects, Santos has put together an impressive career and has now taken his talents to Overtime Elite. The lefty guard is known for his defense, but has what it takes to develop into a two-way prospect with more offensive refinement.

For his age, Santos has a strong frame and a high motor which has really helped him have success on multiple platforms in the past few years. As a scorer, he’s best in transition and getting downhill. While he has shown the willingness to shoot it from beyond the arc with some consistency, Santos generally puts the ball on the floor and drives to the bucket. Once he gets into the paint, he likes to play above the rim and finish with power. As it relates to the left-handed jumper, it looks fluid but has a bit of a low release.

Again, Santos is best on the defensive side of the ball. He has the ability to lock down opposing guards at the point of attack and really thrives on-ball. He’s also smart off the ball and has the ability to jump passing lanes and quickly push the break. Not only does Santos have good height, but the strong frame allows him to defend three positions very well.

Santos has already played professionally for Brazilian club Sesi Franca, but will now be playing a different style of basketball in OTE. He’ll be part of a fast paced environment where he’ll get the chance to showcase his upside against other high ceiling prospects. Even outside of standard league play, the Brazilian guard has been really good in tournaments. He earned All-Star Five honors at the FIBA U18 Americas Championship 2022 as well as the MVP of the FIBA U18 South American Championship in 2022. More recently on the U19 team, he showcased more offensive upside and shot the ball well from deep.

It will be interesting to see how Santos fits in at Overtime Elite, but there’s no question he has what it takes to make it to the NBA.
