Andrej Stojakovic, Stanford

Prospect Profile

A wing with guard skills, Stojakovic has what it takes to be a very translatable NBA player. He’s primarily an off-ball player that works the perimeter, but also has the ability to facilitate and produce at all three levels on the offensive end. He can initiate and make plays situationally, but doesn’t project to be a lead facilitator.

As expected given who is father is, Stojakovic has a smooth shooting stroke and the positional size to rise up over his defender easily. He can knock down shots in spot-up situations, but also pull up and shoot it on the move. Furthermore, he boasts a really fluid midrange game. The Stanford freshman uses his size well to back down smaller defenders and leverage that height to his advantage. He also plays the angles well on offense, which allows him to be an effective cutter and improved driver. With that in mind, Stojakovic does struggle with contact and can be knocked off his path as a driver often.

Getting stronger would really enhance his game and raise the already high ceiling he has on the offensive end. The same goes for defense, where his lack of strength really shows. Stojakovic isn’t built to play physical and shut down forwards, but also doesn’t have elite quickness to take on guards. As such, he’s limited to similar wing type players on that end. Adding to his frame will be key in unlocking defensive versatility.

Regardless, he’s a very hard worker that really showed improvement late in his high school campaign. Stojakovic plays with a contagious energy and believes he can do anything. During his college run, he will need to overall put together a more well-rounded game and polish a few things.

The former top-25 recruit is the son of Peja Stojakovic and will look to follow in his footsteps to become a really good NBA player. Whether he’s a one-and-done or multi-year college player, Stojakovic very clearly has what it takes to make that happen.
