Prospect Profile

One of several talented UConn freshmen, Stewart will look to help the Huskies repeat in the upcoming season. He’s a walking mismatch on the offensive end with his size and skillset.

An advanced, dynamic scorer, Stewart can get it done from anywhere on the floor. The 6-foot-7 combo forward can act as a perimeter-oriented scorer or a back to the basket finisher. He also has an adequate jumper from midrange and deep and makes a lot of things happen out of the mid-post. Overall, it doesn’t matter which level he’s at, Stewart has the moves and confidence to get a bucket.

He isn’t the quickest, but uses his big frame well and has some shiftiness with the ball in his hands. Stewart has more length and vertical pop than you’d think and understands how to use his body. It will be interesting to see how his body and conditioning transforms in a college training program. As of today, h thrives in traffic and contact doesn’t bother him, as he’s a strong finisher.

Stewart was a good shot blocker in high school but likely won’t be as effective in college on that end given the size and athleticism of the athletes. He is a bit slow footed for a wing but also undersized for a true four, so it will be interesting to see how he looks as a freshman defensively. That could be a swing skill and something that has a huge connection to his draft stock.

A former four-star recruit, Stewart could develop into the ideal modern wing with offensive versatility. He will get to play alongside several future NBA talent this season, most notably Stephon Castle and Donovan Clingan.

Stewart’s father played at USC then overseas professionally, but also has two uncles that played at college level. He is the next in line to make noise collegiately this season at UConn.
