Prospect Profile

There’s always prospects that have the physical tools to become a dominant player in the NBA one day. Klintman is just that, but it could take him time to polish his game.

The Swedish forward stands at 6-foot-10 and has a fluidity that’s rare for that size. His role wasn't huge at Wake Forest, but he still makes an impact when he’s on the floor. He’s got legitimate two-way talent with a reliable jumper on the offensive end plus the length and tools to become a versatile defender on defense. On decent volume, he was a good shooter from beyond the arc at the college level. Where he struggled at times has been closer to the rim, as he's learning to be effective against some of the stronger players in the conference. As time goes on, Klintman should naturally fill out and get stronger, which will only make him an even more interesting prospect for his size.

Defensively, the freshman forward is all around disruptive. He's able to switch onto multiple positions, which will be very attractive to NBA teams with how much pick-and-roll action happens at that level. While he certainly isn't a lockdown defender today, the tools are there to fit very well within NBA schemes.

After dropping out late in the pre-draft process in 2023, he'll have a chance to climb boards ahead of the 2024 NBA Draft. From the viewpoint of an NBA front office, it's all about the type of player they think someone can turn into, not necessarily the numbers they put up at the college level in some cases. If Klintman can show enough of the upside and promise over the next year leading up to the draft, his limited raw production on the court could be overlooked as a project type of selection.

Klintman spent time with Gradey Dick and Mark Mitchell at Sunrise Christian Academy in high school, so playing at a high level against elite talent isn’t new to him. Furthermore, he played in FIBA the U20 European Championship for Sweden two summers ago and looked phenomenal.

Klintman checks all of the boxes as it relates to the intangibles of a good NBA combo forward.
