Set to face the Memphis Grizzlies for a preseason game on Sunday, the Indiana Pacers will not have All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton. There is no injury for Haliburton, but he is sitting out for rest:

Haliburton was a first time All-Star for the Pacers last season, and is looking to make another leap this season. Averaging 20.7 PPG and 10.4 APG a season ago, Haliburton had a special year, and still has a lot of room for growth at just 23 years old.

It's not uncommon for teams to rest their star players in select preseason games, especially towards the beginning as players are still getting ramped up after a long offseason. Haliburton will likely play at some point during the preseason, but Indiana is choosing to be careful with their important young star. The Grizzlies will of course be without Ja Morant, who is ineligible for preseason games due to his suspension.

New signing Bruce Brown is in the starting lineup for Indiana, which will give fans a look at what the Denver Nuggets champion is able to provide them with this season. Preseason games are inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, but they are still an exciting opportunity for fans to watch NBA basketball after waiting for it to return all summer.

The Pacers are excited for what they can do this season, and while they still may be a few pieces away from contention, they have a solid foundation to build on.
