Breaking: Memphis Grizzlies Make Trade With Phoenix Suns
It seemed like the Memphis Grizzlies were done making moves for the off-season, but it looks like they still have a few more left to make.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Memphis Grizzlies are trading three second-round picks to the Phoenix Suns for two first-round pick swaps in 2024 and 2030, as well as Isaiah Todd. The second-round picks are 2025 from the Pelicans and 2028 and 2029 from the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2024 and 2030, the Grizzlies will have the right to swap their own first for the lesser of the Phoenix Suns and Washington Wizards' first, according to Wojnarowski.
While this doesn't seem like a game-changing move for the Grizzlies in any capacity, it just gives the team more capability to trade for a prominent player. Depending on how the season goes for the Grizzlies, they'll likely want to make a trade during the deadline, and this gives them more opportunity to do so.
The Grizzlies may not be done making moves, but most of their major moves should likely be done. The team no longer has Tyus Jones or Dillon Brooks, and has already added Marcus Smart to the rotation. They're still awaiting the returns of the much-missed duo of Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke - the Grizzlies were sorely missing front-court help against the Lakers in the playoffs. Hopefully, the results will be different next season.
