Prior to his sign-and-trade deal that landed him with the Houston Rockets, Dillon Brooks had played his entire career with the Memphis Grizzlies. Playing his first regular season game on Wednesday night since that trade, Brooks shared his thoughts on Houston's loss to the Orlando Magic.

"I just try to bring energy during the game," Brooks said when asked about his villain persona. "Try to be that defensive stopper, try to mix it up in there. Just try to let my energy be contagious."

With the Rockets playing their next game against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs, Brooks was asked about defending taller players like the Spurs rookie, and said, "Crowd their space, make every shot difficult, and try to play physical within the rules of the game."

Brooks also spoke on some of the mistakes the Rockets made in this first game, saying each mistake cannot become a revolving door of mistakes, but instead needs to be quickly fixed. Brooks said this is something that needs to start in practice, which will translate over to the game.

"It's our first test really in the regular season," Brooks added. "We gotta find a way to get through this adversity and not let this translate into three or fours losses."

The Rockets will look to bounce back when they face the Spurs on Friday.
