Former Memphis Grizzlies forward Dillon Brooks is officially a member of the Houston Rockets. During an interview with Kelly Iko of The Athletic, Brooks revealed why he chose Houston, and what he's most excited about with this new opportunity.

"You know, it was like the same type of thing with Memphis," Brooks said of Houston. "A nice young core. I feel like I can make an impact there. And just give my veteran-ness and my defensive love for the game, bring that sense of professionalism and try to change it around."

On what he can provide the Grizzlies with, Brooks told Iko, "Just a lot of grit. A lot of heart, a lot of knowledge, good defensive game as well. And I’m here to teach, you know what I’m saying? I can’t wait to work with Tari (Eason). I feel like he can be a great player in this NBA — especially a great defender — and grow his game, his athleticism and everything. But I can’t wait to work with him. And yeah, pretty much. And just, you know, that just that veteran savvy."

Brooks has spent his entire career with the Grizzlies, but is now ready to embark on this new journey in Houston. There is still love between Brooks and his former teammates, but they will now be opponents in the Western Conference.
