Dillon Brooks Sends Bold Message Before First Game vs. Grizzlies
In an interview with Jonathan Feigen of The Houston Chronicle, Houston Rockets forward Dillon Brooks spoke on facing the Memphis Grizzlies for the first time in their upcoming matchup. Houston and Memphis will play each other on Wednesday, which will be Brooks' first ever career game vs. the Grizzlies after spending his whole career there prior to joining Houston this summer.
Speaking on the Grizzlies, Brooks told Feigen, "It’s like the girlfriend that you used to have. You don’t know how good she is until she’s gone."
Implying that Memphis misses him right now amidst their dreadful start to the season, Brooks sent this bold message to his former team ahead of their matchup. It has been a nightmare of a season so far for Memphis, who entered the year knowing they would be without Ja Morant for 25 games, but everything else has seemed to go wrong as well.
With several players going down with injuries, Memphis has been playing very shorthanded. The Grizzlies have also lost some close games they had opportunities to win, which has them sitting at 3-10 through 13 games.
Just a half-game better than the last place Spurs, Memphis has not gotten off to a good start, but they will look to get a win over their old friend Dillon Brooks on Wednesday night. This should be a fun game.
