This was truly one of the more wild scenes in recent NBA history, because while these scuffles do happen on occasion, a chokehold like that is not something that regularly occurs on an NBA court. It's for that reason that the NBA will likely be suspending Green for multiple games, as they determined Gobert was a "peacemaker" during that incident, but was put into a chokehold by Green despite that.
Different angles of the incident can warrant different interpretations, because while the NBA determined Gobert was trying to pull Klay Thompson off of Jaden McDaniels, some have argued that he also had Thompson around the neck area, which prompted Green's response. At the end of the day, it will be the NBA's interpretation of the incident that matters most, as they will be making the call on disciplinary action.
Green's history is also expected to play a factor in the NBA's decision, as this is far from the first time he has been involved in something like this. With the Warriors set to play again on Thursday, a decision from the league will likely come before that game.
